Bola wasn't happy about how James was treating Sarah,she wished James will treat her that way too but James seems to care more about Sarah.
“Is he in love with her? Bola asked herself seeing the way James behaves whenever he was with Sarah. She chose to believe that Sarah and James were just friends because she didn't want to believe otherwise.
James visited Sarah everyday, he wanted to make sure she was fine. Mrs Mercy had told him to take very good care of Sarah when she came back to school after her father's death. Mrs Mercy also told him to make sure Sarah is never alone so she won't feel lonely and depress. James came to walk Sarah to school everyday and walked her back to her hostel. Sarah became comfortable around James,they've been friends for two years now,he was always ready to listen to her and hug her when she was in pain.
Months later,after their examinations, James told Sarah he has a surprise for her. He also handed a brown bag and told her to be ready by 6:00pm that day.
“What surprise did he plan for me?" Sarah thought to herself.
She got to her room and checked what was inside the bag. It was a purple gown.
“He wants me to wear this?" Sarah said.
Bola walked in,she saw the dress Sarah was holding,she told Sarah to let her see.
“Wow!!! It is beautiful,I love it. Where did you get it? Bola asked,putting the dress on her body to see if it fits.
“James bought it." Sarah replied.
“Why,is it your birthday?" Bola asked jealously.
“Well,he said he has a surprise for me and he wants me to wear this dress. I think we are going out." Sarah said as she sat on the bed.
“And you want to go with him,I thought you hated parties,especially night parties. Why are you even going out with him in the first place,are you guys dating? Bola asked throwing the purple dress back at Sarah.
Sarah caught the dress and told Bola she wasn't sure they were going to a party since James hated parties himself.
James came to pick Sarah at exactly 6:00pm,he didn't want to keep her waiting. He was putting on a white shirt and blue trousers with black shoes. His shirt was tucked in.
They got to the beach. The sun was just setting,it left it reflection on the sea making the view a beautiful one. Sarah was so happy to see the sea,it was her first time at a place as beautiful as that.
They played and laughed together. Suddenly, James held Sarah's hands,she felt something was about to happen.
“Sarah,we've been friends for two years now. And we have just a year left to spend together. I want to tell you how I feel, Sarah, am in love with you,I want you to be my woman. Sarah I love you, " James said staring deeply into Sarah's eye.
Sarah couldn't believe her ears,why is he saying this to her. She burst into tears
“Not again,I thought you were my friend,why do you want to hurt me?" Sarah said and started walking away.
James ran after her and held her again.
“Sarah please,I love you,I really do." James said.
Sarah slapped him and shouted at him.
“Take me home,please take me home." She shouted.
